I have been getting a lot of work done on these comics lately. This has been possible because I am buried under several feet of snow and ice. My town has been hit by a big ol' snowstorm and all of my classes and workshops have been canceled this week (except, of course, for my online classes). I had planned to divide this free time equally among drawing cartoons, preparing new lessons, and catching up on graduate school projects, but I mostly just drew cartoons. Oh well, at least I have the holiday weekend to get caught up.
In the meantime, I have been putting up some winter hardships. Sure, there are the usual problems; shoveling snow and keeping the box-turtle terrarium warm. But now I also think my roof is leaking. There is a damp spot forming above my lava lamp and I'm not sure how much water is already pooling above the plaster or if I should worry about the ceiling collapsing at any minute. Of course, there is nothing I can do until the roof unfreezes anyway, so I plan to address this problem by wishing really hard that everything will be okay then thinking about something else.
I'll probably move that lava lamp a few feet to the left.
To those of you in the area, enjoy your snow days!
